DATA PROJECT MANAGER

ACLC seeks a data project manager for a project that is expected to last three to four months. This is a contract position. Most of the work could be done remotely with regular check-ins with project supervisors and consultants. The project manager may be expected to work at ACLC’s offices in Whitesburg, KY during the initial project design and planning. In addition, the project manager may be expected to travel for meetings within the KY/VA/WV region.
The project manager will be a detail-oriented, methodical, and collaborative data analyst, who will be responsible for developing and managing a large dataset related to surface coal mine permitting and enforcement. The ideal candidate must be self-directed and able to work remotely in collaboration with a team. Expertise with Excel is a must. The project manager will be expected to gather, manage, and analyze data; identify cases or permits within the dataset that require further investigation (i.e. with attention to violation or compliance actions) and bring that to the team’s attention; and report data using different presentation methods. Topical knowledge on mining, permitting, and state agency enforcement is not required but is desirable.
The project manager will be paid on an hourly contract basis. Based on current project design, the project manager is expected to work at least 15 hours per week for 3-4 months starting as soon as possible. Hourly pay will be commensurate with experience.
